Will the bracelet work with both iPhone 4S and iPhone 5?
Yes, MEMI is compatible with iPhone 4S and up.
Does MEMI work with Android?
At this time, no, but we’ve purposely left the door open for future software updates which will accommodate more operating systems. We plan to add Android as soon as possible.
How long does the battery last?
Battery life is highly dependent on how many calls, texts and calendar alerts you receive each day. Each communication you receive draws a small amount of energy from the battery. On average, the bracelet will hold a charge for five days, assuming 50 alerts per day.
Does it use up my phone’s battery?
MEMI is a wireless communication device, similar to a wireless headset. It does affect the battery life of your phone, usually using up to an extra 5-10% per day.
Is the bracelet water resistant?
Yes. We have designed the bracelet in a way that when it closes the USB port is sealed with a rubber gasket. We are also planning to use a “splash proof” Micro-USB port that has improved water intrusion characteristics.
Does MEMI have a display?
No, MEMI does not have a display. This was a conscious decision on our part. We focused on delivering a bracelet that is discrete and unobtrusive because we want to reduce the digital disruption in your life, not increase it.
How do you charge it?
MEMI is charged through a Micro-USB port hidden within its clasp (see image above). We will include a USB cable with each MEMI which you can charge using your computer or any USB wall charger.
How much does the bracelet weigh?
56.5 grams (~2 ounces) or less. We are working to ensure the bracelet’s weight is evenly distributed so it rests comfortably on the wrist.

Is MEMI one-size-fits-most?
Yes. We scoured the fashion jewelry market and noticed that the vast majority of bracelets are sold in one size. We took the average of dozens of bracelets to determine MEMI’s size. Having one size simplifies both manufacturing and packaging. That said, if there is significant demand for additional sizes, we will explore making smaller and larger versions.
How far away from my phone can I be?
Conservatively, you will be able to move up to 50 feet or 15.2 meters, depending on the environment – in other words, whether you are inside or outside.
How do I know my MEMI is on and working properly?
MEMI’s discrete button allows you to confirm, at any time, that your MEMI is on and connected to your phone. Simply press and release the button and MEMI’s LED will light up.
Will there be other MEMI designs?
Yes. For the initial design, we are keeping things simple and classic. However, we are eager to pursue other designs to make MEMI even more special and unique. Visit hellomemi.com to participate in creating the first MEMI collection.
Is the MEMI patented?
At this time, no. We are planning to pursue design patents once we finalize the manufacturing process with our contract manufacturer.
How many people can I have “break through” to my bracelet?
It works much like your iPhone, you can have as many “favorites” as you want – to be precise, well over 1,000!
Is the MEMI App free?
Absolutely.
What will the MEMI Classic bracelet be made of?
The MEMI Classic will be made of rhodium-plated metal and will have a white plastic interior.
Who did your Kickstarter video?
